Ingredients
For the Shortbread Base:
1cupbuttersoftened
3/4cupsugar
1tbspmaple syrup
2tspvanilla
1/4tspsalt
2cupsall purpose flourunbleached
For the Guava Layer:
15ozguava paste
For the Streusel:
1/2cupoats
1/4corn flakes
1/4cupalmond flour
3tbspbrown sugar
2tbspcoconut oilmelted
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease and line an 8x8" pan.
For the base: in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter and sugar until creamy and fluffy. Add maple syrup, vanilla and salt, and continue beating. Add flour and beat until fully combined. Press dough onto greased pan.
For the guava layer: cut guava paste into 1/4" slices and cover the dough base.
For the streusel: in a separate bowl, combine streusel ingredients with the melted and cooled oil. Sprinkle over guava layer evenly.
