Description
Deliciously decadent Truffle Brownies with a rich ganache topping, a fudgey chocolatey base and toasted hazelnuts. The perfect recipe to elevate your homemade brownies.
Ingredients
For the Brownies:
- 6 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 10 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 3 eggs + 1 yolk
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract, yes tbsp!
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour, unbleached
- 1 cup hazelnuts, chopped and toasted
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips, optional
For the Ganache
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 6 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
For the Brownies
- Preheat the oven to 350F. Lightly grease and line an 9×9 pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add chocolate and whisk until fully melted. You can do this using a double broiler if you prefer.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, brown sugar, eggs + yolk, vanilla extract and salt.
- Whisk in the chocolate mixture until fully incorporated. Fold in the flour, hazelnuts and chocolate chips.
- Transfer batter to prepared pan, and cook for 30-35 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Allow to cool completely before adding the ganache on top.
For the ganache
- In a medium pot, simmer heavy cream over medium heat. Don’t let it come to a boil!
- Remove from heat and add chopped chocolate and chocolate chips.
- Let stand for 1 minute, then whisk until chocolate melts.
- Pour over cooled brownies and let cool at room temperature for at least for hours.
