Description
Tropical guava bars with a buttery base, sweet guava layer and topped with a crunchy corn flakes & oat streusel. Super easy and delicious!
Ingredients
For the Shortbread Base:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups all purpose flour, unbleached
For the Guava Layer:
- 15 oz guava paste
For the Streusel:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/4 corn flakes
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease and line an 8×8″ pan.
- For the base: in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter and sugar until creamy and fluffy. Add maple syrup, vanilla and salt, and continue beating. Add flour and beat until fully combined. Press dough onto greased pan.
- For the guava layer: cut guava paste into 1/4″ slices and cover the dough base.
- For the streusel: in a separate bowl, combine streusel ingredients with the melted and cooled oil. Sprinkle over guava layer evenly.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden.
