Guava Bars
Tropical guava bars with a buttery base, sweet guava layer and topped with a crunchy corn flakes & oat streusel. Super easy and delicious!
So excited to share these delicious guava bars. Guava or Guayaba is one of those fruits that bring back so many memories! But I actually never made guava bars before. We’d either eat them in jam form (with cream cheese) or make a delicious juice.
These guava bars are super easy to make. Start with a shortbread layer, topped with sliced guava paste, and then finished with an oat & corn flakes topping.
I was able to find guava paste at my local hispanic market. The GOYA brand is pretty good and you can find it on Amazon, too. All you need to do is slice the paste about 1/4″ thick and layer it on top of the dough base. Don’t leave any empty holes.
To make the streusel
Traditional guava bars are topped with oats, but I wanted to take it up a notch and add almond flour and corn flakes (or frosted flakes). It tastes amazing and I’m obsessed with how these turned out!
If you make these guava, leave a comment and rate this recipe! I love hearing from you so don’t forget to also tag me on Instagram using #yogaofcooking! Looking through the photos of recipes you make is the best part of my job!
