Hemp seeds are a great plant protein source, rich in healthy fats and vitamins such as vitamin E, calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc.
It’s creamier texture is closer to milk which makes it great for smoothies, cereal or straight from the jar!
Quick and easy creamy homemade hemp milk. Naturally sweetened with dates and vanilla, ready in 5 minutes! Great alternative to cow’s milk and other plant based milk such as almond and coconut. Nut-free, dairy-free, vegan.
- 1 cup raw shelled hemp seeds
- 3 cups water
- 2 dates (pitted)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch Himalayan salt
- 1. Add water, hemp seeds, pitted dates and additional ingredients to a high-speed blender. Blend for 2 minutes until well combined.
2. Taste flavor and adjust as needed. Add 1 or 2 dated for added sweetness.
3. Pour the mixture in a sealed glass container and refrigerate. It will keep in the fridge for 5 days. Enjoy cold and shake before serving!
You can strain the mixture using a nut milk bag, but it doesn’t need it in my opinion. You can also add 2 tbsp of cocoa powder or cacao for chocolate milk!
